The U.P. State Ophthalmological Society (UPSOS) is the professional organization representing Eye Care Specialists across Uttar Pradesh. With a history rooted in the pursuit of scientific perfection and social service, UPSOS stands as one of the most vibrant and academically driven ophthalmological societies in India.
Our Core Objectives
UPSOS functions as a catalyst for growth in the field of vision science. Our mission is built on three foundational pillars:
1. Academic & Research Advancement.
We aim to cultivate and promote a deep understanding of the contemporary and evolving fields of ophthalmology. By supporting original research and human resource development, we also ensure our members have access to latest surgical techniques and diagnostic protocols.
2. Professional Fellowship.
The society provides a prestigious platform for fellow ophthalmologists to interact, share clinical experiences, and discuss complex case studies. We believe that professional growth is best achieved through the exchange of ideas and a strong sense of community. The society also promotes young Ophthalmologists and Residents to foster their careers.
3. Eradicating Visual Impairment.
Our ultimate commitment is to the people. By educating the society at large and facilitating high-quality eye care, we strive to fight the misery of people suffering from eye diseases and eliminate avoidable blindness in our region.
